Duties
Position Description #: T5710200
This position is located in a National Guard JFHQ-State organization under the office of the Chief Information Officer(CIO/G6/J6). The primary purpose of this position is to provide expertise in cybersecurity policy and process development; conducting audits to validate compliance; responsible for the risk management framework and ensures systems are operated and maintained IAW AR 25-2 and all applicable command, DA, JS and DOD security directives and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Selectee will not be appointed untill investigation is complete.
- Will be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance, AND, as a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to assignment.
- Direct Deposit is mandatory.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- The agency will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request of the agency a legally required exception from this requirement.
- TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) may be required based on the highest classification level utilized in the state.
- Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Management (IAM-II) within 6 months or less of appointment to this position.
- All certifications are required within 6 months of employment.
- Position is designated as OM-ADM-001 within the Defense Cybersecurity Workforce as guided by NIST SP 800-181; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.
- Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - For the GS-5 level, a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirements. At the GS-7 level, on full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. At the GS-9 level, a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be substituted. At the GS-11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
If choosing to certify based of the education substitution option, you must upload a word document stating you are using the education substitution option, your degree and transcript OR the Military Courses completed. If these are not uploaded you will not be referred to the selecting Supervisor.
