About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Resource Management, Clinical Support and OPS,Orthopedic Service at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) with the Defense Health Agency, Indo-Pacific, Hawaii Market. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Routinely performs preventative maintenance on sewing machines, shoe repair machinery, power saws, grinders, polishers, sand blaster to insure that the machinery is in safe working condition. Operates all shop machines associated with fabricating orthotic appliances, alterations and repair of orthosis; performs work in, welding, brazing materials, laminating, sewing, metal and leather work. Provides clinical orthotic assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal condition(s) through the application of an orthosis. Fabricate cervical, thoracic, lumbar orthotic devices and other spinal braces; hinged knee, and other types of lower extremity orthotic devices. Provide the application of the orthosis, consultation, education, and training to promote maximum benefits from the service provided.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document Basic Requirements for Prosthetist: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes measuring and fitting patients for a variety of orthotic devices; adjusting and modifying standard prefabricated devices and custom-made orthotic devices; and operating a variety of equipment associated with the fabrication process of devices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
