About the Position: This position is located at the 359th Medical Group in Randolph Air Force Base as part of the Medical Logistics Department. The position may also include working out of Lackland Air Force Base.
Duties
Expedites delivery of urgently required items through correspondence and/or telephone calls to inventory control points, manufacturers, or other organizations.
Completes complex requisitions. Identifies potential discrepancies, resolves those which involve special program requirements for urgent, critical shortage items requiring specialized procedures and efforts.
Uses experienced judgment and consults with customers, resource management, contracting and vendors to determine requirements and time frames.
Selects and uses the appropriate method to confim or place orders primarily by using a purchase order or may use government credit card procedures when applicable.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1. Verify contracts meet terms, conditions or specifications; 2. Use automated systems to monitor procurement data; 3. Prepare procurement documents, files, reports or records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
