Duties
This position is located under the National Center for Explosives Training and Research (NCETR) in Front Royal, Virginia.
National Center for Explosives Training and Research (NCETR): Provides basic and advanced explosives training and research that leverages lessons learned and best practices to provide focused support to ATF's core mission of investigating the criminal misuse of explosives and regulation of the industry, and to align this support with the whole-of-Government counter-Improvised Explosive Device effort.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
GS-09: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-08 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Conducting physical and/or oral assessment of canines;
Assisting in monitoring anesthetized canine patients; and
Providing first aid to canines.
OR
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in zoology, biology, chemistry, or agricultural subjects that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of the position.
OR
Possess a combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above, when combined; equal 100% of the qualification requirement. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be used in this calculation.

A current license as a veterinary technician in a U.S. jurisdiction. You will need to be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to hiring report date and required to maintain licensure through annual participation in continuing education. Note: Must provide licensure documentation.
