The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a pipefitter work lead in the Operation and Maintenance/Maintenance Repair Section within Facility Management Service and performs a variety of analytical duties, evaluative techniques, and consultation in the management of plumbing shop functions for Eastern Colorado Health Systems (ECHCS) that support various type and ages building infrastructure.
Duties
Ensures needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available; and that required stock is obtained from supply locations.
Uses tools and equipment such as plumb bobs, pressure gauges, dividers, powered sewer tapes, closet augers, soldering and brazing equipment, hydrostatic pumps, and lead pots.
Installs, modifies, and repair new and existing high-pressure steam, condensate, vacuum, circulating pumps, hydraulic systems, life safety systems (Fire Sprinkler), domestic water, oil, and medical gas distribution systems, tubs, waste disposal, lawn sprinkler systems, sewage, emergency eyewash and showers, plumbing fixtures with or without electronic control, etc.
Installs, modifies, and repairs systems by locating and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper level and slope.
Installs, modifies, repairs, and maintain high temperature water and high-pressure piping systems such as hydraulic, nitrogen, oxygen, steam-heating, and steam-generating systems.
Tests and makes needed adjustments to systems and equipment for proper operation, flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and where the systems and equipment worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Stands, stoops, bends, kneels, climbs and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently handles, lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds). Occasionally, lifts and carry items that weigh over 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
