Duties
Major Duties:
Planning the use of all resources in the housekeeping section
Assigning staff for duties on a daily and a project-by-project basis
Cleaning of all patient areas, corridor spaces throughout the Medical Center, Operating Rooms, and all other areas as assigned.
Ensuring the efficient and economical accomplishment of work assignments of subordinates within established policies and schedules
Planning work activities, establish deadlines, and accounts for quality and work accomplished in area of supervision
Training staff to ensure the use of established techniques in the handling of contaminated items
Maintaining tracking system on employee performance
Approving and/or disapproving leave requests
Reviewing and evaluating tour of duty changes/rotations
Inspecting areas to determine if work is being done correctly using proper methods in the most effective manner
Recording discrepancies in cleanliness, needed maintenance repairs, broken or inadequately stored furnishings and equipment
Storing, distributing, and inventorying equipment/supplies while monitoring use, protection, storage, and accountability
Monitoring on a daily basis the needs of employees for on-the-job-training regarding tasks performance, safety, and preventive maintenance to fully utilize and enhance skills of other Housekeeping Aids
Ensuring time and attendance records are accurate and complete prior to submission to timekeeper.
Performing related duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:30pm-7am varying shifts, some Weekends and Holidays

Qualifications
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: The work performed requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, and lifting. Physical effort is required when performing housekeeping duties, operating equipment, during training sessions, or in emergency situations. Work is performed in all areas of the medical center.

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). The potential eligibles are rated against the remainder of the job elements. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates.
