About the Position: This position is located in Beaufort, South Carolina. This position is a part of the Defense Health Agency.
Duties
Incumbent will manage day-to-day medical equipment maintenance issues.
Incumbent will interact with the Director, Ancillary Services, Head, Facilities Management Department, and Radiographic Equipment Manufacturer's for the procurement and installation process of radiographic systems.
The incumbent will perform highly detailed work including digital and analog principles.
Incumbent will install, modify, troubleshoot, maintain, test, calibrate, adjust, overhaul, and repair a wide variety of radiographic and fluoroscopic x ray systems and other medical equipment (electronic, electrical, and mechanical).
Test equipment after repair and also new equipment to assure proper functioning.
Determines the nature of trouble and extent of repairs required and completes repairs following established trade practices and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires incumbent to be screened for applicable immunizations and subject to missing/required immunizations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) MEDICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER ~ without more than normal supervision, including installing, maintaining, modifying, repairing, and calibrating diagnostic and therapeutic medical/dental equipment and support systems used in various clinics and documenting service events. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Primarily moderate work with occasional heavy work of short duration in cramped or awkward positions. May be required to climb ladders, Good vision, normal color perception, and hearing are required.
Working Environment: Electric shocks and burns, cuts, exposure to x-ray radiation, Occasional exposure to contagious diseases from handling equipment used in rooms of contagious patients, potential for sticks from sharps or needles, ultra-violet rays and high voltage currents is possible. Work is performed both inside and outside, normally under favorable conditions.
