This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Child Care (OCC), located in Chicago, Illinois.
Duties
Provides strategic and effective oversight of assigned Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Lead Agencies utilizing available information sources, lead agencies contacts, on-site visits, and formal monitoring.
Develop and maintain partnerships in collaboration with government and non-government entities to share information on Administration for Children and Families (AFC) and Office of Child Care (OCC) goals, policies and/or strategies.
Coordinates and provides technical assistance that promotes high quality child care services , subsidy administration, and compliance.
Provides timely information to supervisor and other Office of Child Care (OCC) staff on lead agency issues relevant to cross-program activities that can support Office of Child Care (OCC) participation and inclusion in regional, and cross-regional initiatives and/or activities that impact Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) lead agencies.
Participates or may serve as team lead on specific Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) topics/areas of work, and/or participate or serve as lead for, at least one child care/early childhood content area.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic AND Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.
Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below (A, B, or C):
A. Possess a 4-year bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science from an accredited college or university; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts)
B. Possess a combination of education and experience -- that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Must provide transcript)
C. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Specialized Experience:
GS-12: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Managing child care programs at the State, Territorial or Tribal level;
Managing multiple projects and/or priorities related to child care;
Analyzing a variety of conditions, problems, or questions that affect child care programs nationwide;
Planning, implementing and/or advising on child care program issues.
