This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Fort Moore, GA is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The Geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.

Duties

Construct data pipelines using complex tools and techniques to handle data at scale. Plan and conduct relevant research and analytical studies of Army problems to support critical operational problems and/or decisions. Develop training, marketing, and other tools as a means of increasing knowledge of data management and data analysis within the MCoE. Develop data set processes and uses programming language and tools to identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality for missions, goals, and future planning.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
• This position may occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
• This is a TERM position intented to last 13 months

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide range of complex analytical, mathematical and statistical research that inform operational requirements and provide options on how to best implement data driven solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
