This position is located in the Purchased Referred Care (PRC) Branch of the Rosebud Service Unit in Rosebud, South Dakota. The primary purpose of this position is to perform budget technician duties in support of the Purchased Referred Care (PRC) Administrator.

Duties

Provides up-to-date budgetary information on a variety of appropriated funded accounts within the Purchased Referred Care (PRC) department. Extracts, compiles, and summarizes cost data used by others in preparing budget estimates for the CHS Committee. Resolves problems in balancing accounts, adjust discrepancies, develop control records to verify the accuracy of the budgetary data. Determines patient eligibility for care under the PRC Program. Defines alternate resources available to patients under the PRC Program and determines patient eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, vocational rehabilitation, VA, private insurance or other third-party programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: OPM LINK - (see Clerical and Administrative Support Positions): General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov) Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of Specialized Experience: GS-07: Processes a variety of budgetary transactions and compiles status of funds reports for appropriated funded activities and accounts. Identifies the type of transaction; extracts, compiles and verifies cost and workload data; computes and adjusts account balances; prepares required budgetary forms and records. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
