This position is located in the Director of Operational Logistics (DOL), Office of the Procurement and Contracting (DOL9), Simplified Acquisitions and Utilities Division (DOL94) in Norfolk, VA.
Duties
You will serve as a Purchasing Agent responsible for procurement to support Director of Operational Logistics (DOL), Office of Procurement and Contracting (DOL9) and all areas of Responsibility (AOR), acquisition of supplies, services, minor construction, or emergency response to procure any commodity/service required to the AOR.

- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Qualifications
GS-5: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level (in the Federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: working with data/files related to purchasing; providing administrative support to purchasing agents/contract specialists; acquiring supplies and services through small purchases, delivery orders or purchase orders; maintaining purchase order logs, purchase order files and reference materials. OR Four years above high school

Combining Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5 and below
GS-6: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level (in the Federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: working with data/files related to purchasing; providing administrative support to purchasing agents/contract specialists; screening purchase requests for completeness and adequacy and determining how the purchase should be made; purchasing a variety of goods and services which are subject to the Federal Acquisition regulations (FAR).
GS-07: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes: preparing routine correspondence, evaluating contractor performance; receiving requests, initiating process, maintaining files and monitoring inventory for the agency; coordinating solicitation and delivery schedules with requesting activity; providing contract administration for purchase orders until closed; preparing all appropriate documents for the contracting officer; and purchasing a wide variety of routine goods, services, and non-routine technical items and services through a simplified acquisition procedure.
