This Position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans integrated Service Network6 (VISN 6), at the Durham VA Health System in Durham, North Carolina, within the Construction Shop Section of the Engineering Service. This Position reports directly to the Supervisor of the Construction Shop (i.e., Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor).

Duties

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Performs general maintenance and repair pertaining to the carpenter trade throughout the VA Medical Center. This includes inside and outside repairs to the buildings, alterations, and minor improvement projects. Installs floor tile requiring material for adhesion, repairs and replaces window guides and tapes, cuts and replaces different size window glass, installs detention screens, acoustical ceiling suspension systems, metal stud walls, partitions and carpet.
