The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Executive Support Specialist to manage the day-day operations of the Director, Deputy Director, Technical Director, and the Front Office Group (FOG) of the Strategic Plans, Programs, Requirements, and Analyses Directorate by performing a variety of executive office implementation and task management functions.

Duties

Reviews and evaluates complex responses from various Directorate organizations prior to submission to the Director, Deputy Directors, Technical Director to ensure clarity and completeness of all correspondences going outside the organization Provides support to directorate senior leaders and staff on the Command's plans, modifications, and processes for task and workflow management Assists the Director, Deputy Directors, Technical Director, and other Directorate leadership in conducting a variety of studies and assessments of the Directorate's current processes and procedures to determine efficiency and effectiveness of program operations Manages and maintains Director, Deputy Directors, Technical Director's calendars and travel arrangements

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing a wide range of procedural and administrative work in support of the organization, such as using various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and/or graphs; demonstrating skill in all aspects of written and oral communications; and/or developing procedures to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR, LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws), or J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combination of specialized experience as described in (A) above, and graduate level education described in (B) above (only graduate level education beyond (1) year is creditable). NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Due to the use of 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of the TIG requirement are encouraged to apply. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to various administrative support functions 2. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques pertaining to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature 3. Ability to research, analyze, and summarize information from a variety of sources and organizations 4. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 6. Ability to maintain good working relationships and to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
