This position is located within the Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to provide adequate and timely custodial services to cabins/suites at the Navy Getaways AT NAVAL STATION YORKTOWN-CHEATHAAM ANNEX.

Duties

Upon check out, cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes bathrooms (sinks, tubs, showers, floors, toilets, etc) ensuring that lavatories are properly restocked with all appropriate amenities. Sweeps, dry mops and cleans floors using brooms, mops and commercial vacuum cleaner, cleans windows, sills, walls, woodwork and mirrors. Replaces all bed linens, trash liners, towels, amenities, changes light bulbs as needed and makes beds. Cleans appliances, defrosts refrigerator, cleans, waxes/polishes furniture to ensure cabin/suite is ready for next occupant.

Qualifications

Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate possess the following: Must have working knowledge of the machines, products and techniques used in custodial work including the ability to perform minor maintenance on heavy commercial-type power cleaning equipment. Must possess basic math and reading skills and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Two (2) years housekeeping/janitorial experience is strongly preferred. Must have the ability to lead a small staff of Custodial Workers and work independently.
