The Jesse House Program at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center is organizationally aligned within the Homeless Continuum of Care Section of Social Work Service. The Jesse House Program Coordinator (JHPC) manages the administrative and clinical aspects of the program.
Duties
The Jesse House Program Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the program, develops policies and procedures for program operation, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. Other duties include:
The program's budget, ethical practice, and service delivery.
Provides analysis and evaluation of clinical program data and computerized programs to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance the quality of service.
Administratively responsible for the clinical programming and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
Initiates and conducts a variety of program or service audits and complete designated clinical practice audits and reports, including productivity assessments.
Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, length of stay, patient demographics, equipment utilization and patient satisfaction.
Develops implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
Oversight of the houses, safety, clinical operations, and participant selection/admission.
Creating and maintaining standards, practices and policies that are consistent with The Joint Commission and Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
Grade Determinations: In addition to the basic requirements for employment, you must meet the following grade requirements.
Senior Social Worker, GS-12
Experience/Education: You must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior social workers have experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. Senior social workers are experts in their specialized area of practice. Senior social workers may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty.
Licensure: Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and you must be able to provide supervision for licensure.

Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). (e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. It typically requires sitting with sustained periods of concentration. There will be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of relatively light objects. The position may also require stooping, reaching, lifting, pulling, and other moderate exertion or strain. Incumbent may occasionally have to walk some distance to a meeting. The incumbent will also be required to perform (50%) of their job duties in the community and will be required to utilize a GSA Vehicle while performing such duties.
