About the position: This position will be assigned to the Golf Course.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week.

Duties
Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Jul 21, 2023, Jul 31, 2023, and closing on Aug10, 2023. Announcement will close once position is filled.
Oversees the pro shop operations including promoting, organizing, scheduling, and conducting tournaments, matches and special golf events. Encourages patron interest in scheduled golf events and tournaments. Performs and/or assists in the operations and maintenance of the golf shop by selling, inventorying, and restocking shop merchandise. Ensures pro shop merchandise inventory levels are properly maintained. Receives and logs merchandise, creates displays and arranges merchandise in a neat and proper order. Advises operations manager on daily and monthly specials. Ensures all sales, fees and charges are correctly rung up on the cash register. Sells green fees and assists patrons in the fitting and selection of golf equipment. Assists in developing methods for safeguarding of funds, supplies, equipment and real property. Manges monthly inventory by doing daily spot checks and monthly hands on accounting of all merchandise. Advises patrons on handicap rules, procedures, explains course safety, rules and regulations. Monitors etiquette and play of golfers and coordinates with outside operations. Assist in club repair. Assist with developing an annual buying plan for the pro shop. Ensures window displays are changed monthly. Makes sure the clubhouse and surroundings are maintained in a neat and clean manner at all times. Receives and resolves difficult customer complaints and special requests. Ensures rental equipment is correctly maintained. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have responsible experience that demonstrates knowledge of golf course operations to include the rules of golf, equipment sale and repair, and tournament organization. Must also possess experience which provide knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales/retail operations such as receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently to communicate effectively with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
