Duties
Position Description #: T5696000
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a General Supply Specialist in a developmental capacity. This is a developmental position leading to the next position of a General Supply Specialist, GS-2001-11. Duties and responsibilities of the position are essentially the same as that of the full-performance PD with the exception of additional training, supervision, guidance, and direction necessary until incumbent attains the full-performance level of experience. As level of knowledge and experience increases, level of supervision will decrease accordingly. Incumbent may be promoted to next higher grade without further competition after completion of minimum TIG (Time-in-Grade) requirement, completion of all training as indicated by manager, with recommendation of the supervisor, provided the full-performance position remains as a valid position. Difference in factor levels are provided below. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Selectee will not be appointed untill investigation is complete.

- Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance, AND, as a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to assignment.

- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; over/comp time may be required.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training dealing with cost estimates, budgets or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.
GS-11 --- Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.

There are no educational requirements for this position.
