This position is located with the Arizona State Office at several field offices in Kingman, Lake Havasu City, Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma. Information about Phoenix and the surrounding area can be found at Welcome to az.gov | az.gov.

Duties
Learn how to gather, analyze, and process information, and make defensible recommendations on a variety of lands and realty actions.
Receive on-the-job training, direction and guidance to appropriately determine land ownership and status and to conduct research of lands records and related documents.
Assist in gathering information and data necessary to complete environmental reviews from on-site examinations.
Assist in preparing reports or request required reports and assessments from the appropriate source (cadastral survey, hazardous materials, appraisal, cultural guidance, mineral titles, grant authorizations, decision letters, etc.)
Utilize the Bureau's automated land and records system and other applications to document a variety of realty cases of limited difficulty.
Function as the contact in non-controversial interactions with the public regarding realty matters on public lands.
Assist in preparing and disseminating Notices of Realty Actions when this documentation is required.

- REALTY POSITIONS ONLY-1170: Selectees w/less than 3 years exp. as a Realty Spec. (GS-1170) are req'd to attend a 3-part Lands and Realty Academy at BLM's National Training Center. Failure to complete/pass this Academy may result in your termination.
- May require a one year probationary period.
Qualifications

GS-05: You must possess one (1) full year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: compiling correspondence and documents related to real estate projects; assisting higher graded staff in preparing for negotiations; or reading and interpreting various types of maps and surveys; and/or assisting with property inspections.

Education: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
GS-07: You must possess one (1) full year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: gather, analyze, and process information, and make recommendations on a variety of lands and realty actions including, rights-of-ways, communication sites, land acquisition and disposal, Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) actions, exchanges, permits, leases, withdrawals, and trespass; assist in gathering necessary information to complete environmental reviews from on-site examinations, review applications and proposals and Plans of Development for accuracy and compliance with established land management and planning regulations and guidance.

Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
Superior Academic Achievement (See OPM's General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled.
