This position is located in the General Services Department, Chief Operations Division of the Hopi Health Care Center in Polacca, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to perform and maintain a variety of warehousing duties required in the maintenance of the store rooms for supplies, equipment/materials and accountability to support Hopi Health Care Center supplies/materials, equipment and assets.

Duties

Receives, unloads and processes incoming shipments via use of bar code tracking system. Organizes items into groups based on information shown on the receiving/shipping documents and separate supplies according to such factors as condition of shipment, type of shipment or property class and routes along appropriate processing lines. Inspects all capitalized and non-capitalized equipment for damages, tag all equipment with property tags, record all equipment in proper records and deliver to respective locations. Process and meter all official outgoing mail on a daily basis, which involves sorting, metering and delivering official mail to the post office and will pick up official mail from the post office and assist with the distribution of mail. Required to operate government owned vehicles in the course of duties, therefore must have a valid state driver's license. Manages and controls fleet of GSA vehicle motor pool including scheduling maintenance, safety inspections, cleaning and making vehicle assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: WG-6907-4 EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualification will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. WG5: Your resume must demonstrate experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing materials handler duties, including apply material handling techniques in storing items providing for easy retrieval, convenience in handling, protection from damage, and ease of movement, safeguard material, items, and equipment from damage or loss, store, stack, palletize, and/or rotate items considering their use, shape, quantity, and special handling requirements, uses materials handling equipment to arrange, move, stock, or rotate items (for example, platform lifts, fork lifts, work savers, warehouse tractors), use manual or automated inventory systems to inventory items which may include the use of formal, informal, item-by-item, or group inventory methods. Physical Effort: Incumbent is often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended period of time, and to bend, stoop and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. May lift and carry items that weight up to 40 pounds. The heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Working Conditions: At the grade 5 level, work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Materials handlers are regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapers, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, they may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as hardhats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
