Duties

This position reports to the Assistant Manager (Pools) and will assist with the operations of all pool locations. Duties include assisting with lifeguard staffing, training logs, delegating maintenance, and keeping a record of all facility usage and closure. Lead will help in resolving lifeguards concerns, along with implementing the Assist Managers directives. Lead guard reports all staff shortages and closures to direct supervisor. When operations allow, lead guard will perform rescue trainings with lifeguards on duty.

Qualifications

Minimum two years of lifeguarding and/or related rescue experience, along with two years of program leadership. Supervisory or lead duties experience is preferred. Must be able to possess; Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Lifeguard Instructor (LGI); current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid certificates. Dexterity to handle a person in the water who may panic or be unconscious. Understanding the importance and having the ability to enforce rigid safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers. National and state background checks are required for positions that involve working with youths. This position will have occasional requirements of lifting of up to 20 lbs., and may require work that poses physical demands beyond normal requirements during rescue.
