About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located at the Martin Army Community Hospital located on Fort Moore (formally known as Fort Benning) Georgia. The primary purpose is performing a wide range of security assistant duties pertaining to childcare background and personnel security program. Involving prescreening and follow-up work of security investigation and clearance submitted for approval and adjudication.

Duties

Provide instructions to candidates about the background check process. Notify appropriate offices and officials upon completion of required background checks. Submit fingerprints through the Security Office. Notify selecting official and the Security Office in writing when derogatory information is reported. Track and initiate periodic re-verification background checks requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require travel to other duty locations approximately 5% of the time.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Successful screening for and/or obtaining applicable immunizations, based on occupational risk, in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • This position may require a physical exam.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceSecurityTechnical CompetenceTechnical Documentation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
