You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Technical Director's Office of NCTAMSLANT NORVA, This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Duties

You will establish required levels of operational availability for all communications assets in accordance with contract specifications. You will be responsible to the Commanding Officer, NCTS HR for inspection of all electronic equipment and facility maintenance (preventive and corrective). You will act as Project Officer on all government implemented special projects for the government-owned facilities and other projects. You will act as a the site Integrated Risk Management (IRM) Program Coordinator.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must show qualifying experience demonstrating the following: 1) Utilizing system access methods, selector channel functions and data paths in order to use alternate paths during periods of equipment malfunctions to continue the submarine broadcast; 2) Utilizing communications and electronic circuit theory concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of technical duties concerned with equipment evaluation, selection, configuration and design of communication systems; 3) Communicating with technicians, engineers and contractor personnel both orally and in writing to present reports, technical specifications and standards while defining SOW requirements and participate in contract preparation and award; and 4) Utilizing processes, procedures and requirements in order to manage an effective 3M program and ensure required drills, tests and maintenance is both performed and recorded.
