About the Position: Serves as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager for Policies, Plans, and Program (PPP), with full authority to plan, organize, direct, staff, implement, and evaluate management oriented Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Programs throughout AMC.
Duties
Develop, coordinate, review and evaluate the PPPs throughout HQ AMC.
Identify and define command-wide systemic barriers to equal employment opportunity.
Plan, organize, staff, and develop objectives for positive management advisory programs.
Advise managers on systemic problems, policies, and practices that tend to discriminate against and affect the selection process of senior level positions, recommending corrective action.
Develop overall operating policies, priorities, procedures and plans in directing the program.
Meet with managers on a planned basis to discuss equal employment objectives; analyze and evaluate plans and accomplishments; identify weaknesses in their respective commands, organizations; and assist in developing policy and plans for improvement.
Analyze representation of minorities and women in all grade levels, in all pay plans and all career programs.
Participate in policy briefings and other meetings with members of the Command Group, and in conferences, seminars, etc., with high level Government and private officials.
Travel frequently to field installations to provide guidance on policies, programs, projects, etc., and to advance the goals and objectives of the EEO program throughout AMC.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 10% to perform duties/attend training.
- Incumbent may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Conducting studies, research, and analyses to identify systemic problems and barriers to equal opportunity (e.g., sex discrimination, people with disabilities, supervisory attitudes, or other problem areas which result in denial of equal opportunity in employment, promotions, training, or recognition); 2) Providing oversight in the execution of EEO programs to ensure compliance and alignment with established policies, plans, and objectives; 3) Developing strategic plans and methods to implement recommendations and resolution for issues adversely affecting EEO. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
