Duties

Conduct analysis of healthcare management based upon financial and management factors. Suggest potential management analysis projects and studies to achieve organizational success. Share in the conceptualization of strategies and formation of recommendations based on these studies. Input data and extract ad-hoc and routine reports from a variety of data base using a variety of software. Participate in designing, executing and analyzing survey instruments to capture, identify and collect information relevant to conducting healthcare management studies. Participate in contract development, contract surveillance, contract management, budget management, personnel management and liaison/problem resolution.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience managing, analyzing, evaluating, advising, coordinating, procuring, and acquisitioning health care delivery systems and operations within a medical treatment facility (MTF); applying and adapting administrative principles and practices in the analysis of such systems via organizational studies, statistical analysis, and development of plans; conducting statistical analysis of effectiveness and productivity of facility and administrative services in a healthcare setting; knowledge and familiarity of the unique characteristics of the health care delivery system served and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, procurement, and acquisitions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
