About the Position: Serve as the Lead Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the WSMR Cybersecurity Office, G6, White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) and works under the direct supervision of the Organization Information Systems Security Manager/Chief, Cybersecurity, WSMR G6. Provide technical direction and guidance on broad program objectives, resource authorizations and established DA, ATEC and NETCOM policies to other IT Specialists (INFOSEC).

Duties

Serve as Team Lead and participates in work performed by a team. Leads, defines, integrates and manages the efforts of the team members. Assist the team through knowledge and application of leadership and team building skills and techniques. Participate in and leads security inspections, assessments, and surveys of computer networks and systems. Staff advisor on all matters relating to the vulnerabilities and threats. Responsible to ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained. Ensure IS Cybersecurity documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals. Develop and enforce a formal training and education program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Position requires access to classified information therefore the incumbent is required to complete a Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA), SF 312.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD 8570 approved Information Assurance Management (IAM) level III baseline Cybersecurity certification within 6 months of entry.
  • Must obtain and maintain the Communications Security Account Managers Course and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Management Client (MGC) and certification within 6 months of entry.
  • Must obtain and maintain the Communications Security Account Managers Course and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Management Client (MGC) and certification within 6 months.

Specialized experience one year involves: (1) experience ensuring protective and corrective measures are implemented for vulnerabilities or incidents; (2) experience performing Cybersecurity and security management tasks within the Risk Management Framework (RMF); and (3) experience administering efforts in support of operational and readiness issues, assessing security posture, and cognizant of available automated security and monitoring tools, and analyzing data resulting from these tools. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11/NH-02).
