About the Position: This position is located at Homeland Defense at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Serves as a Building Management Specialist for the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Homeland Defense/Civil Support Office (HD/CSO). Responsible for direct, on-site customer service and support of the student housing management program and furnishings management. Processes recommendations to the Army Barracks Management Program (ABMP) Manager with respect to exceptions to policy provided by students. Initiate work orders directly with post work order section to ensure repairs are conducted. Monitor progress of repairs to ensure timely completion of repairs and availability for next Soldier.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty Travel may be required up to 5% of the duty time.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, out of cycle, or on an emergency basis.
  • The employee may be recalled to duty from scheduled time off or required to be on call. Work is subject to rotating shifts and/or irregular tour of duty to include weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program).
  • The incumbent must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential.
  • The position is needed to ensure facility operations in support of Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP) and/or performance of duties and completion of tasks that are mission essential functions of the organization.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on:(1) Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR(2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.; OR(3) Honor Society Membership - Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies (https://www.achsnatl.org/). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
