Fort McCoy operates one of the premier Outdoor Recreation programs in the Army. Pine View Campground is a large full-service campground that includes over 170 campsites and 17 cabins. A well-stocked camp store provides essentials, and a wide range of activities are available to guests. Announcement will have a first cutoff date of July 26, 2023, and applicants that submit a complete application packet prior to that date and found eligible may be given first consideration.

Duties

Loads and unloads conveyances; moves materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges supplies for storage; collects refuse and recyclable materials. Digs, fills and tamps soil and gravel in earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake. Maintains stock of cleaning materials and implements used. Notifies supervisor when additional materials are needed. Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required. May assist with special events in and around the installation. Mows grass, lays sod, weeds flowerbeds, trims and edges walkways and lawns. Prunes shrubs and trees; applies fertilizer, waters plants, cleans out drainage ditches, shovels snow from walks and driveways. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors, exposure to inclement weather, heat, cold and dirty conditions.
• Drivers license will be required if operating government vehicles.
• Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
• Must meet the 16 year age requirement prior to appointment to meet WI State Labor laws.
• Operation is 7 days a week, schedule will be based on the needs of the activity. Nights, weekends and holiday are required
