About the Position: Serves as an Office Administrator (Office Automation) at a lake project office. Incumbent is normally the first to greet visitors personally or via the telephone and is expected to apply a broad knowledge of lake project/area office functions in responding to visitor needs.
Duties
Greet visitors personally or via telephone for the Lake projects.
Evaluate budget to cover expenditures related to contracts, small purchases, labor and training.
Provide general information about the project and recreation facilities available.
Utilize automated systems to prepare travel arrangements to include travel orders and vouchers.
Serve as the records management coordinator for the organization.
Serve as the records management coordinator for the organization.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all office automation equipment.
Verify accuracy of payment request prior to payment for the organization.
Assists Park Rangers in presenting structured programs.
Provide guidance to staff on personnel matters to include time and attendance, and new employee orientation.
Provide procedural instructions to contractors.
Prepares correspondence for managers in the organization.
Prepare and track budget reports for the organization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Typing Proficiency: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative office support (document creation and routing, calendar management, email) AND experience in personnel actions or use of electronic financial management systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing various administrative functions, ensuring that the daily operational functions of the office are carried out efficiently and providing technical assistance and administrative support ins such areas such as, office budget, correspondence, travel, records and files maintenance and control, purchasing, time and attendance, and various personnel related functions This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
