Duties
The NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) is looking for a Librarian within the Reactor Operations and Engineering Group. The Librarian's duties will include:
Digital Services Librarian to plan and coordinate library digital migration projects and repositories. Administer & manage the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) collections, including customizing web pages to facilitate upload of digital content and improve user experience in information retrieval. Maintain and revise record retention schedules in accordance with NCNR controlled documents processes. Monitor and report NCNR compliance in accordance with record retention requirements. Partner with NCNR personnel on data management activities, consulting on best practices for curation, data stewardship, and preservation. Conduct outreach to promote NCNR products & services related to digital collections and data management. Monitor and report on standards development, technologies, and best practices in digital collection management and preservation.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements: A. Successful completion of one full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a Bachelor's degree.
OR
B. Successful completion of a total of at least five years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements listed above, applicants must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST). Specialized experience is described as experience managing a library program including defining scope of collection, planning budget, evaluating computer hardware and software; establishing library operating policies; and cataloging material.
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in library science or doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) related to the position.
OR
A combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience.
