The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the 705th Training Squadron.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 705 TRS.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents 705 TRS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Provide expert C-HQ AOC /AFFOR and operational C2 experience, Air Force military rated aviator experience, and subject matter expertise in one of the five AOC divisions; Strategy, Combat Plans, Combat Operations, ISR or Air Mobility; provide expert AFFOR and operational C2 experience and subject matter expertise in AFFOR processes; apply military decision making processes and takes appropriate actions to support operational C2 planning and execution; extensive content analysis; select training strategies; and anticipate necessary changes and coordinate the development and presentation of Advanced Academic Courses to senior military leaders.
Prepare and deliver academic courses presentations for the 705 TRS Tactics and Academic Support Flight in support of Advanced Academic Courses to include the Specialized Joint Air and Space Operations Center Training (SJAT) for general officers, Combined/Joint Air and Space Operations Senior Staff Course (C/JSSC), Command and Control Warrior Advanced Course (C2WAC), support to the Lemay Center's Combined/Joint Forces Air Component Commander (C/JFACC) and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS) courses.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekend, holidays and/or overtime and be required to stand for several hours at a time while instructing in a classroom environment.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent requires a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Incumbent must have a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or equivalent. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- This position may require the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
- This position may require frequent travel or long periods away from normal duty station to include CONUS or OCONUS/overseas and may include remote or isolated areas

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: develop goals and objectives that integrate organization objectives; Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. Provide innovative instructional design, professional learning theory and the principles, methods, practices, technology and delivery techniques of instructional systems with emphasis on directing course development to include instructional materials, test items, and objectives measurement instruments to plan, design, and revise full-length courses or complex development products. Must be a C-HQ Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more of the following advanced course focus areas; Special Technical Operations (STO), Strategy, Combat Plans, Combat Operations, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Space and/or Cyber. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with higher headquarters, other advanced academic educational institutions, operational AOCs, Highly Qualified Experts (HQE), AF Senior Mentors, and Advanced Academic Course Developers, SMEs and Instructors. . Ensures development of effective learning maps, presentation materials, and perform sound learning analysis utilizing a professional training development approach to train.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
