Duties

Oversee and direct administrative activities for a business or organization to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Purchase supplies and equipment using designated process and suppliers to assure facilities are staffed, stocked, and organized. Ensure security and safety of facility, such as acting as point of contact for local law enforcement, safety program, access badges, wellness and emergency plan, etc. Update public distribution lists, directories, and phone lists for building tenants. Prepare detailed contracts for building needs (janitorial, snow removal, etc.). Write and implement procedures which improve administrative effectiveness. Demonstrate a commitment to fostering and promoting an equitable, inclusive, and safe work environment. Supervisory duties (20% or less) for Flagstaff location only.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Work Experience: Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month, and year the work assignment started and ended; the hours worked per week; position title, and series and grade if applicable; and description of duties performed. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-9: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal service. To qualify at this level, your experience must include the following: Applying qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to identify and resolve administrative issues. Gathering data necessary to prepare an annual operating budget for a business or organization and tracking expenditures against an operating budget and recommending reprogramming if needed. Creating a variety of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases using standard business software such as Microsoft Office Suite. OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., directly related to administration, OR A combination of specialized experience and education described above. Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify for this grade level. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
