This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as Facility Services Assistant at a major multipurpose water resource project that includes power generation, flood control, visitor centers, natural resources and recreation features, or other appurtenant elements at several locations.

Duties

Provides system control, oversight, data entry, repair history, analysis, and documentation of the ongoing Facilities Equipment Maintenance System (FEM) control program. Answers inquiries about work order status, equipment maintenance history, work order numbers, trouble reports, outage requests, and other preventive maintenance questions. Compiles, prepares and generates various reports, records, statistics, listings, charts and graphs, or other PM related information as requested. Assures work orders are correct. Coordinates monitoring of expenditures to assure funds availability and charges are within designated amount allotted. Upon completion of maintenance work, reviews feedback to verify work accomplished and enters and/or reviews all data pertaining to each completed job in FEM. Monitors safety requirements for each maintenance activity including mandatory training courses and certifications. Identifies and schedules each job, such as parts, types of equipment/tools needed, sequence of work, each trade and craft needed, estimated costs, specific safety procedures, Job Safety Analysis, etc.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with tracking or scheduling maintenance on equipment and/or facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
