This position serves as a Cashier, at the Consolidated Patient Account Center (CPAC) in the organization of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Cash Management Division, in Madison, WI.
Duties

MULTI-GRADE CAREER LADDER: This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-06. At the GS-05 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-06. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Perform cash processing functions for the Cash Management Division.
Perform work which involve the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody.
Examine and perform quality audits of deposits in order to ensure regulatory issues are met.
Process cash-link deposits and e-payments in a timely manner.
Reconcile cash accountability and review vouchers for completeness, accuracy and propriety before making payment, referring questionable vouchers for audit prior to disbursement.
Provide the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
Handle conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately.
Comply with procedures and instructions contained in the Department of Treasury Manual of Procedures and Instructions for Cashiers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-5 level, you must meet one of the following:
EXPERIENCE: 1 full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Program Support Assistant. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes performing cash/check/electronic funds processing functions which involve the receipt, disbursement, deposits, transfers, and other clerical/administration tasks. ~OR~
EDUCATION: Successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Transcripts must be submitted at time of application. ~OR~
COMBINATION: Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. Transcripts must be submitted at time of application.
