In order to be considered for either of these locations verify that the appropriate location is selected. The incumbent provides detailed administrative assistance and support for supplies and equipment at a National Interagency Support Cache (NISC). The support involves technical supply management, database utilization and document processing.

Duties

Purchase a wide range of supplies and services using a variety of recognized service agreements or contracts. Process supply transactions independently, including items requiring unusual handling and critical shortage items. Provide technical assistance on the regulatory requirements for processing a wide variety of supply transactions. Evaluate supply management codes, data information, delivery and distribution information to ensure purchases are expedited and all transactions, orders, and requisitions are accurate and complete. Ensure compliance with all applicable material handling policies and regulations. Perform a wide variety of record keeping in support of the organization?s programs. Review files ensuring accuracy of outdated materials. Investigate automated supply transaction discrepancies relating to procurement. Process inventory management documents following established policies. Verify incoming documents relating to new inventory. Maintain electronic systems used to track a variety of supply inventory. Conduct data entry for a variety of program areas. Perform database modifications as needed to ensure electronic records equal physical inventories. Update automated tracking system with information. Use software applications to evaluate information to be used in preparing work reports. Instruct others on technical procedures to ensure all requirements and deadlines are met. Maintain cooperative working relationships with personnel. Expedite delivery of required items through verbal communication. Apply work related experience to resolve customer service issues associated with support cache transactions.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

  • Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-06 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level. Examples of specialized experience is defined as 2 or more of the following: Conducted supply inventory inspections; Purchased supplies for a unit in accordance with governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions; Determined office supply, equipment, and real property value; and/or Conducted cost estimates for purchasing, renting, and shipping supplies and equipment. For the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level. Examples of specialized experience is defined as 2 or more of the following: Maintained electronic property, equipment, and office supply records through the use of inventory databases; Processed property documents for acquisitions or disposal of supplies, equipment, and property; Purchased a wide range of supplies, services, materials, and equipment using a variety of recognized service agreements or contracts. and/or Processed incoming and outgoing package shipments and produced written reports. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
