About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 83D 704TH Military Intelligence Brigade 742ND Military Intelligence Battalion Detachment, Fort Meade, MD. .

Duties

Plans, develops, implements, and maintains programs, policies, and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems, networks and data. Performs as an Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) and serves as the backup Information Assurance Manager (IAM). Provides system security management to ensure systems/networks are operated and maintained IAW regulatory guidelines and in-house implemented policies and procedures. Provides network, systems, and security administration for local area networks.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with no deception indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• May be required to perform TDY travel 10% or less.
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Must meet DoD baseline certification requirements of IAM1 within six (6) months of employment.
