Duties
Responsible for systems implementation activities, to include coordinating site prep and installation of complex systems with specialized application software.
Develops and maintains the installation plan for systems based on analysis of functional requirements and impact/interrelationships with respect to existing systems. Coordinates equipment interfacing and installation with remote sites.
Develops communication requirements for systems and coordinates those requirements with the responsible activity.
Performs inspections and tests installed systems for compliance with standards established by contract specifications, BAMC standards, and external activities such as U.S. Army Medical Command (USAMEDCOM) and U.S. Army Information Systems Command.
Functions as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) with responsibility for vendor shipping list and/or invoice verification and maintenance receiving reports.
Participates in systems installation to include initial load of databases.
Requirements

- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
- This position requires Information Assurance Level 2 certification IAW DoD 8570-01-M, 12/19/05 (i.e., GSLC, CIO, etc...).

Basic Requirement for: Information Technology Specialist (System Administrator)
Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: troubleshooting problems associated with, and implementing changes for, departmental IT equipment such as monitoring systems performance, hardware malfunctions, system security, and systems downtime.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.(2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
