About the Position: Serves as a senior specialist responsible for overall logistics management of assigned conventional ammunition commodities. Develops conventional ammunition requirements; accomplishes ammunition production planning, procurement, execution, and delivery; production receipt forecasting; and manages receipt and distribution of inventory to achieve a positive materiel readiness posture in support of targeted supply availability goals.
Duties
Utilizes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to surveillance and maintain ammunition production plans to identify potential causes and impacts of delays.
Participate in budget preparation and review, analyzing, developing, and recommending ammunition stockpile replenishment strategies.
Assists, trains, and reviews lower-graded employees? assigned items for completion and accuracy.
Coordinates pertinent production information with appropriate internal customers to provide periodic (e.g., daily, monthly) item updates.
Develop production and delivery schedules for assigned munition end-items and components by analyzing acquisition strategies, customer needs, industrial base capacities.
Develop production and delivery schedules for the capabilities, component availability, availability of funds, and current industrial stock to optimize materiel readiness.
Monitors deliveries against requirements, ensuring ammunition is receipted on time and into correct depot and customer accounts.
These duties are described at the full performance level of GS-12. The duties at the GS-11 are developmental leading to such performance.
Requirements

- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
- This is an Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics-Foundational Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Position requires a Secret security clearance or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying program knowledge to manage programs, analyze performance and report on progress to leadership; 2) Utilizing Automated Information Systems, Software to process to process logistical data; and 3) Participating in a project team to resolve complex issues that lead to a positive result. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS 12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience in program management to include production planning, production receipt forecasting, management of depot receipts and worldwide distribution of inventory; 2) Develops plans for short-term and long-term goals of logistics programs to include operations, stockpile management, and resupply mission to mitigate readiness impacts; and 3) Recommends policies and procedures to changing logistical processes and systems. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/ level position in the federal service (GS-11).
