The primary purpose of this position is to mantain tracking of engines and critical engines component, managing time compliance technical orders, monitoring status reports, inventory control, pipeline analysis, financial accounting, forecasting and requirements utilizing CEMS and CAMS and hard copy files.

Duties

Performs work involving the scheduling and dispatching of jobs for manufacturing/repair activities on the basis of production line or shop capacity status of' work in progress, time required to complete the activity, availability of materials and tools, and urgency of need. Performs work involved in expediting engine work in progress AND Performs work involving use of an automated systems to maintain accountability of' engines and engine historical records, plans, schedules, and tracks manufacturing/repair processes. Analyzes engine statistics and a variety of pipeline products from CAMS and CEMS in order to produce briefings, reports, forecasts, and schedules for all levels of Management. Performs coordination required to facilitate effective use of unit facilities, assist in resolving part and material problems. dispatch skill support or dispatch of unit owed equipment. Establishes and maintains good working relationships.

  • It is highly desirable that incumbent has performed engine management duties in a high tempo, sortie generation of trainer/fighter operation within the past 2 years

  • May be required to attend school. training and conferences
  • May be required lo work weekends, holidays, overtime etc.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of aircraft engine and engine component requirements to plan for and control a production cycle, knowledge to observe and analyze production operations to determine schedule adherence, improvements, and timeliness, and knowledge of automated maintenance systems. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to plan, scheduled. and takes corrective action to meet emergency and regular workload requirements. 2. Knowledge or established production methods and procedure as they relate to aircraft engines and engine components in order to carry out production control assignments; practical knowledge of aircraft engine and engine component requirements, to plan for and control the production cycle. 3.Ability to interpret manufactory terminology, data, standards, and instructions and to relate them properly to the particular control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective following-up. 4. Ability to input and extract data from CAMS and CEMS and skills in using Excel, Word, Power Point, and Windows to build reports and briefings. A qualified typist is not required. 5. Knowledge and skill of appropriate process and material posture to assure continuing availability of material requirement. 6. Ability to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources, and Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, AND Ability to work and interact with other, in a professional manner, and communicate both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
