Duties

You will provide oversight and coordination of NSWCCD Acoustic Research Detachment (ARD) fleet of watercraft, boats, barges, and associated systems, including; coordination of all maintenance and repairs, operator training, and qualifications. You will assist the ARD Operations and Maintenance Supervisor in managing the NSWCCD ARD WHE program, including support of crane maintenance, certifications, management of rigging gear, and operator training and qualifications. You will assist the NSWCCD ARD Operations and Maintenance Supervisor in managing all aspects (procurement, operations, maintenance) of the NSWCCD ARD motor pool, emergency diesel generators, material handling equipment (fork lifts), and winches. You will assist the NSWCCD ARD Operations and Maintenance Supervisor in the application of, maintenance of, and removal of paint systems and various other treatments. You will support ARD Operations and Maintenance Supervisor in managing ARD Logistics Support functions, including; material procurements, shipping and receiving, warehousing, material issuing, and HAZMAT program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This position is required at test sites during the day and night involving long periods of standing or walking over uneven surfaces, climbing in, out, on and around machinery, vehicles, boats, barges, docks and wharfs.
  • This position may require to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.

Qualifications

NT-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-9/10 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing engineering technical support by managing operations of maintenance and repair of material handling equipment and watercraft to ensure safety procedures are followed. NT-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-5/8 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing engineering technical support by assisting in the of maintenance and repair of material handling equipment and watercraft to ensure safety procedures are followed. Education

Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

NT-03:
  • successful completion of two full years of graduate level education or a master's degree that is directly related to the position being filled; -OR-
  • a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
