You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3), PACIFIC REGION NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER (N32) of NCTAMS PACIFIC.
This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
Duties
You will serve as the Senior Network and Systems Administrator providing network systems support for seven autonomous Combined Enterprise Regional Exchange Systems, Maritime (CENTRIXS-M) coalition networks.
You will troubleshoot routers and switches, cryptographic devices, firewall equipment, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) suites of equipment, and various vendor servers and IP services.
You will interact with global US and coalition network and systems administrators and engineers to diagnose and resolve network infrastructure problems.
You will manage configuration, diagnostics, and analysis of CENTRIXS and Collaboration at Sea (CAS) equipment and software assets, provide Subject Matter Expert guidance to major customers, to assess and assure equipment and services availability.
You will direct CENTRIXS and CAS Teams in performing software and equipment upgrades, security patching and scanning, implementing Security Technical Information Guide (STIG) requirements, and all IA related details associated with systems security.
You will direct CENTRIXS Team configuration and implementation of CENTRIXS applications such as CAS, Common Operational Picture, various chat applications, email, Voice over Internet Protocol (IP) capabilities, and all other IP services as required.
You will perform Microsoft Windows and third-party patching and scanning as well as maintaining all Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Information Guide (STIG) requirements.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 and 441 within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying configuration management methods and techniques for integrating information system components sufficient to install and maintain network software and hardware, optimize functionality of systems, and diagnose and recover failed systems.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing customer support concepts and methods such as operating systems, network systems, protocols and equipment sufficient to analyze and resolve problems.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Planning, organizing, and carrying out assignments, coordinating work with others, determining the approach and methodology to be used and keeping the supervisor apprised of potential problems.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Utilizing diagnostic tools to analyze problems, provide assistance, adjust, modify and recover network connectivity.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as:
-Experience providing expert level Tier Three (3) technical advice and guidance including design, integration, troubleshooting, and repair of systems and technologies;
-Experience identifying software solutions to provide integrated information management and information technology capabilities to meet specified requirements;
-Experience developing and maintaining technical and operational documentation to support hardware/software lifecycle (installation, operation, change and removal);
-Experience creating and implementing both long and short-term operations, training and technical plans to coordinate with customers during installation and upgrade evolutions, and monitoring work assigned to teams based on priority requirements.
