About the Position: Serves as a Medical Insurance Technician in the Resource Management Division of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and works under the general supervision of the Uniform Business Office (UBO) Manager. This position is located at Munson Army Health Clinic in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Creates financial records of transactions including accounts receivable management. Responsible for ensuring records of billed claims have adequate audit trails. Advises of unusual trends for non-payment by insurance companies. Analyzes Accounts Receivable for assigned claims in a timely manner to determine the status of claims errors or obstacles that could delay/prevent payment. Corrects billing documents to facilitate payment of disputed or rejected bills.

• This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified designated position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receives documentation of patients having third party insurance and using this data, enters a variety of information into computerized systems; verifies insurance eligibility and benefits for medical, pharmacy, dental, vision coverage; the policy type; deductible, co-payments, co-insurance amounts for preferred provider organization, Medicare Supplements. . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Insurance Coding, Business Administration or Health Information Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
