About the position: This position will be assigned to the Manatee Cove Marina. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 20-34 per week. Position includes benefits: Retirement, 401K, Health and Life Insurance.

Duties

Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Jul 24, 2023, Aug 2, 2023, and closing on Aug 14, 2023. Announcement will close once position is filled. The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of custodial duties in an assigned area. Maintains a specified area in an orderly and clean manner. Vacuum cleans carpet, rugs, and draperies. Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial type power equipment. Adjusts and changes buffers, brushes and other attachments on power equipment. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Polishes door knobs and other metal fixtures. Cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, using stepladders and extension ladders. Maintains restrooms and bathhouse in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes, lavatories, urinals, showers and toilet bowls. Cleans, mirrors, and water fountains. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap. Reports water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance to supervisor. Maintains supply of cleaning materials, and advises supervisor when more supplies are needed, or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Performs seasonal tasks as required; such as, pressure washing entrances of buildings, decks and patios, picking up litter around buildings, blowing off grass from walkways, decks, patios and watering lawns around buildings. Must be physically able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighting 50 pounds or more. Must be able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
