This position is located at the Great Plains Area Youth Regional Treatment Center, Wakpala, SD. The Licensed Clinical Psychologist oversees the professional duties involved in the rehabilitation of the presenting adolescents at the treatment center.
Duties
Has overall responsibility for the full range of clinical services for the residential services and of the full breadth and complexity of substance abuse and substance abuse/mental health problems in adolescents.
Provides direct psychological services including evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, referral, psychotherapy, crisis intervention and specialized treatment modalities for children/adolescents.
Refers and coordinates substance abuse and/or mental health services with outside agencies to ensure appropriate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
Provides administrative and technical supervision to subordinates as required.
Qualifications

In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-13: 1 year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: work as a psychologist in a mental health setting clinic or hospital while providing psychological evaluations, delivering therapeutic mental health treatment modalities for patients. Provide consultation, collaboration and follow up. Assist and refer patients with acute, chronic or severe mental illnesses and dual diagnosis patient populations. Use an electronic health record for patients.
Selective Placement Factor:
Ability to independently provide direct services to patients as evidenced by a current, valid, active, unrestricted license, as a Clinical Psychologist in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Time In Grade (Merit Promotion Candidates Only)
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
