Duties

Adjust a wide variety of funds such as appropriated and industrial accounts to reflect effects of budgetary transactions. Gather, extract, and compile data for use in recurring and nonrecurring report formats. Provide status report updates on a regular basis. Ensure all budgetary transactions are in compliance with authorized policies and procedures. Prepare annual phased plan to show projected monthly expenditures and reimbursable. Compare current estimate with ongoing expenditures on a continuing basis.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Financial Management Certification Level 1.
  • Must be able to type at least 40wpm

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Compiling financial/budgetary data for an office; AND 2) Reviewing financial reports for discrepancies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as accounting or finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationComputer SkillsFinancial Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
