This position serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of the Logistic Service in the Butler VA Medical Center, with the responsibility for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in the assigned areas(s).

Duties

Position Description/PD#: Inventory Management Specialist/PD99824S Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Major Duties: Conduct short, mid and long-term advanced planning for new and replacement NX assets, utilizing enterprise-wide computerized planning tools. Analyze data to include projected lifecycle, downtime, repair rates, lost workload, cost, depreciation, trade-in value and other factors which impacts procurement decisions. Participates in VISN and facility strategic planning to support major and minor construction projects, activation of new facilities and reuse of existing space involving multi-million dollar projects. Manages and controls NX assets for a VA HCS and supported catchment area. Recognized as an authority on NX assets management and services as a subject matter expert to all services and service lines. Acts as the focal point for all new equipment procedures. Ensures equipment accountability at each service line is appropriately managed, assigned and monitored through the monthly 5% inspection program. Researches causes and location of items not found during inventories. Identifies and rectifies asset management issues with other Services, VISN-level staff, or support contractors. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have I have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Physical Requirements: Works involves a mix of working in an office environment to working in a warehouse to assist in processing new equipment receipts and entering into the EIL.
