About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Inspector General Agency, Principal Director to the Inspector General, Technical Inspections Division, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Teach and trains external subject matter experts on regulatory standards and compliance techniques.
Lead special technical inspections and investigations as directed by the Secretary of the Army, Chief of Staff of the Army, or The Inspector General (TIG).
Lead a high-performing and respected team of technical experts measuring organizational compliance against Federal, DOD, Army, Component, and local standards.
Lead compliance inspections of all of DOD?s chemical and nontraditional agent (NTA)facilities and associated CO/CO facilities under contract with the Army.
Lead compliance inspections of all the Army nuclear surety organizations and select Army organizations possessing radiological hazards.
Inspects a variety of technical functional areas during both compliance and systemic technical inspections.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must successfully complete The Inspector General School.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
- Incumbent must maintain confidentiality of Inspector General information and adhere to the requirements of Army Regulation 20-1.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 50% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes measuring organizational compliance against federal and local standards, and recommending changes as needed; conducting a variety of compliance inspections in area such as, chemical and non-traditional facilities, nuclear surety organizations, and organizations possessing radiological hazards; providing technical briefings on sensitive activity programs and compliance trends; performing personnel management and administrative functions, such as: planning work to be accomplished by subordinate and supporting organizations, setting top-level priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
