This position is part of the Southwestern Power Administration. As a High Voltage Electrician Helper (Substation), you will be
electrical substation crew responsible for the continuous maintenance, operation and construction of high-voltage substations and radio stations within a designated areas for the Southwestern Power Administration (SWPA) electric power transmission system.
Duties
Maintains substation equipment including transformers, switches, batteries power circuit breakers etc.
Investigates substation equipment failures and interruptions.
Provides inspections of new installations and conducts performance tests of new equipment prior to acceptance of operations.
Performs preventative maintenance.
Maintains technical documents associated with maintenance and operation of control systems and associated components.
Operates and maintains all types of equipment common to the trade.
Must possess a CDL Class A license at the time of hire and maintain the license as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
You must have entry-level ability in the duties of an High Voltage Electrician Helper (Substation) working with high voltage power systems (69 kV and higher). You must meet all the qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement.
