Duties
Plans Community Center programs within established policies and objectives. Oversees comprehensive Information, Ticket and Travel program for DoD members. Selects and emphasizes program activities to be offered, both through the basic programs' minimum essential categories and those designated to meet more specialized interests and needs so as to provide a more enhanced overall program. Devises, improves, and adapts various activities to the wide range of participant needs and interests, and to meet the limitations of funds, facilities, equipment and volunteer and other staff support available. Plans and coordinates the details of recurring and non-recurring activities, special events, and joint community undertakings so as to make maximum use of facilities, services, and other resources. Schedules and publicizes community center activities, ensuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants and in providing the widest possible range of activities in terms of community interests and needs. Continuously evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing community center activities from the standpoint of participant response, resources, unforeseen developments, and program objectives. Adapts and varies program activities based on evaluations. Develops program plans, annual budget requirements, capital expenditure requests, marketing and business plans, and activity calendars. Responsible for work force management and staff training. Works with marketing to develop adequate activity surveys to ensure program emphasis is on activities most appropriate to the interest of the population served. Researches and determines or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command or agency. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. May operate one or more motor vehicles to include utility vehicles, light trucks, sedans, and vans on a limited basis; performs operator maintenance. Observes all safety rules, regulations and posted traffic signs. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Thorough general knowledge of broad field of recreation. Responsible experience demonstrating the ability to manage business activities. Knowledge of accounting and financial planning principles and procedures highly desirable. Ability to supervise, train and schedule subordinates required. General travel industry knowledge to include processing reservations using travel system software programs and internet services highly desirable. A good working knowledge of Services practices and procedures is highly desired. Required to demonstrate possession of an adequate degree of proficiency in typing methods using word processing equipment. Must have ability to read, write and speak English. Must possess good communication skills. Experience involving public contact or service is desirable. Experience in cash handling required. Valid driver's license required. Subject to uncommon tour of duty. Subject to satisfactory completion of National Agency Check. Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
