This position will serve as the Nurse (Community Health) in the Public Health Nursing (PHN) department of the El Reno Indian Health Center located in El Reno, OK. The incumbent of this position assists with the provision of a comprehensive public health nursing program. This position reports to the Supervisory Community Health Nurse of the Clinton Service Unit.
Duties
Carries out community health plans by conducting visits to homes, communities, schools and clinics to provide patient care.
Participates in program planning, providing in-service education and other training.
Maintains records and reports on patients, daily activities, program status and other required information.
Assist with the control of communicable diseases through case identification.
Participates in performance improvement activities and is involved in facility accreditation activities

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-09: Applicant must meet one of the following minimum requirements to meet the GS-09 level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program. Examples of experience include: delivering health and nursing care to individuals, families, schools within communities using initiative, judgment in covering a range of nursing services through counseling, teaching and follow-up within established plans, policies and objectives of the agency and evaluating the effectiveness of the program, appraise the quality of nursing services delivered which impacts the health of individuals, families and communities; OR
Possess a master's degree in professional nursing.
