About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Moore, Ga. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.

Duties

Oversee the entire budget cycle for the Garrison which includes the tasks of programming, budget formulation, budget presentation, reprogramming, budget performance and unfinanced requirements (UFRs). Formulate major portions of the budget which includes the detailed analysis and estimates of annual funding needs for one or more future budget years and of priorities of financed and unfinanced requirements. Provide technical leadership to personnel for the development of cost estimates associated with direct and indirect operating costs. Analyze budget guidance from higher headquarters to determine the impact on Directorates' ability to accomplish their missions. Provide alternative budgetary solutions for consideration by the Garrison Commander, Budget Officer and other senior staff. Prepare monthly budgetary analysis charts with narrative statements reflecting precise justifications for fund deviations. Evaluate programmed distribution of available funds submitted by the Program Directors against mission and workload objectives to ensure proper balance of funds distributed to support mission requirements, fixed costs and other variable costs.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain and maintain a Level 2 Department of Defense Financial Management (DoD FM) Certification within the first two years of employment into this position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. Position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter IAW DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
